Abstract:

Objects and creatures have unique functional or tactile real and illusory textures. While some textures are formed spontaneously, some textures change over time due to living conditions or external intervention. The texture is typically based on two aspects according to its formations and sensations, and it is one of the essential design elements and expresses an important feature of the surface in visual arts. In artistic ceramic forms, texture helps convey the message and contributes to strengthening the meaning. The plasticity of clay is of great importance in the variety of effects it will create with textures and in shaping the artist's design on ceramic surfaces in terms of form. The study revealed applications in which texture types are used in ceramic art forms by making glazed and unglazed firings with different types of clay. The study "Texture in Artistic Ceramic Forms" aims to provide information about the shaping, glazing and firing methods used to obtain texture in ceramic forms and to contribute to the literature by showing examples of how ceramic artists benefit from texture.
