In mathematics education, there is a need for the development and implementation of classroom activities that help students develop mathematical thinking and understanding skills and harmonize conceptual-procedural knowledge in almost every subject (Gerez Cantimer, 2018). In this regard, one of the aims of teachers and prospective teachers should be to ensure that students learn mathematics by doing activities and adaptation of activities in textbooks to the classroom environment. Activities must be implemented efficiently in mathematics education so that students can better understand skill-based questions and make mathematics applicable, but it can be said that the activities in middle school mathematics textbooks are often not included in the classroom or are not emphasized enough. At this point, what kind of properties the activities should have in order to be implemented in lessons comes to the fore. it is not clear that which strategies are effective for activities to be implemented in classroom efficiently. The aim of this project is to examine the activities selected from the 5th and 6th-grade mathematics textbooks on the basis of the Activity Design and Implementation Principles (ADIP), to identify and revise their deficiencies, and to make the activities more applicable by making adaptations to the existing activities in line with these deficiencies. The results of the project will be important for the applicability and sustainability of the activities. By examining the activities selected in the project in line with the ADIP, identifying the missing points, and making addition principles to the ADIP, the activities will become applicable in the classroom.
