Energy Conservation in Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Facilities, Hossam A. Gabbar, Editör, John Wiley & Sons, West Sussex, UK , New Jersey, ss.225-247, 2018
The requirement of electrical energy by humankind has been increasingly continuing since the mid-1880s because of its key role in basic modern life, as well as the growing globalization with industrialization and information society in the world. Based on the rising energy requirement, the need to control demand-side management (DSM) of existing electrical resources efficiently emerged. In that respect, today an optimized energy management solution that promotes ecofriendly use of energy is very important. The dissemination of this solution and compatible work with the grid can be provided by transforming the traditional power grid into smart grid (SG) where information technology is integrated to traditional grid structure, so that every moment of the power generation and power demand can be monitored and controlled [1, 2]. Demand-side management has a key role in the smart grid concept: to control the demand-side consumption and reduce peak loads. The ability to shift peak loads and provide the energy efficiency through better demand-side management is currently one of the most promising approaches to solve problems related to peak demand.
