Özet

Rockwool is made from igneous volcanic rocks and blast furnace slag. The manufacturing process starts the melting of dolomite basalt and coal as fiber in 1380-1500 degrees C and then it is transformed 97% natural fiber. Generally, the rockwool fibers are adhered to each other, a mixture called "Binder" is used. This binder can be prepared from chemicals such as phenol -formaldehyde resin, silane, silicone and process oil. It can also be prepared using different chemicals such as anhydride, amine, reducing sugars. As an alternative, in this study we tried to produce environmentally friendly rockwool insulation material with high thermal resistance, odorless and high strength with inorganic resin. In the products, all values except water absorption and dimensional stability were obtained within limits.
