Özet
While considering the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to help students with specific learning difficulties in primary education, this chapter further discusses the various forms of SLDs, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia, the evolution of AI from assistive technology to machine learning- based adaptive systems and finally, to recent generative AI (GenAI) tools. The narrative literature review in this chapter examines how advancements in technology have influenced teaching methodologies, the role of teachers and how students experience learning. This chapter also places emphasis on AI’s impact on accessibility, customisation, and changes to instructional methods. Other ethical concerns regarding AI are discussed, such as privacy of data, bias and fairness of access. A structure for understanding the opportunities and barriers associated with the implementation of AI into inclusive primary education has been developed through the idea of AI as a means for educational change.
