Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine what motivates preservice information technology teachers to learn online. Survey design methodology was used in this research. Participants of this research are 177 preservice information technology teachers attending to the department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT) at three government universities in Turkey. Data collection tool is motivators to learn online questionnaire. To analyze data obtained, descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) were used. Results showed that the highest motivator to learn online is "online learning is time independent" (M=4,30). The lowest motivator to learn online is "participation of online learning is an obligation for course" (M=3,14).
