Özet
In this study, Nevit Kodallı’s Telli Turna Orchestral Suite was examined in terms of orchestral conducting techniques, and recommendations were developed for the rehearsal process and concert performance of the work. The study aims to identify and clarify appropriate orchestral conducting approaches that can be applied in the performance of the piece. The research was conducted within the framework of qualitative research and is based on. descriptive research model. Based on the literature review and musical analysis conducted for the study, it has been determined that the Telli Turna orchestral suite incorporates motifs derived from Turkish folk music, and that the concepts of Turkish musical idioms and polyphony are employed within. simple, clear, and accessible compositional language accompanied by. refined orchestration. The work, which may be considered an important milestone in the history of polyphonic Turkish music, is also regarded as suitable for performance by. wide range of ensembles, from professional symphony orchestras to orchestras within music education institutions. Furthermore, the suite is considered to possess an instructive musical structure for young musicians who are learning orchestral repertoire. Consequently, due to its inclusion of both simple and irregular rhythmic structures, the suite can be regarded as. valuable resource for determining and developing conducting beat patterns and techniques.
