This study aims to present a digitally assisted mould development and rapid prototyping method for ceramic product design and manufacturing processes based on the combined use of Stereolithography Apparatus (SLA) and fused deposition modelling (FDM)-based 3D printer technologies. Traditional ceramic mould production processes have various disadvantages, such as long preparation times, high costs, and limited flexibility in response to design changes. In particular, the development of custom-designed products for the gastronomy and restaurant industries requires the effective execution of rapid prototyping and revision processes. Within the scope of this study, a hybrid production system was developed based on designs created using digital modelling software. The process begins with the production of master models that require high precision and surface quality using SLA technology. Mould release components, pin systems, and auxiliary equipment are produced using FDM technology and integrated into traditional plaster mould processes. This method allows designs prepared in a digital environment to be transformed into physical prototypes in a short time. The developed system reduces the prototype production time of ceramic products while minimising labour and time losses during the mould preparation stages. Furthermore, design revisions performed in accordance with user requirements can be quickly implemented in a digital environment, and updated models can be rapidly reproduced. Thus, design validation processes are accelerated, and product development stages become more efficient before mass production. The method developed within the scope of this research was applied to the design and production of original service and presentation products for the gastronomy industry. The findings show that digital manufacturing technologies can make significant contributions to mould development and prototyping processes in the ceramics industry. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the combined use of traditional ceramic manufacturing methods and digital production technologies offers advantages in terms of speed, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness in production processes.
