Abstract

Canakkale Province has a total surface area of 996 000 ha of which 513 000 ha are covered with forests. In other words, 52% of the surface area consists of forests, including Kaz (Ida) Mountain, rich in endemic species. However, this valuable forest area had significant losses due to the fires in the last 10 years.
