Özet

Summer asphodel has an important feature in terms of human, animal and most of the plant health, while on the other side, it prevents the economic use of rangeland areas for animal grazing by having an aggressive weed and poisonous characteristics for the cattle and sheep in the pastures. As the rangelands are a great source, there is a potential to reduce the weed problem in rangelands by the usage of this weed plant to protect other hay grass and plants against different fungal, viral and bacterial diseases or protection from diseases and thus to increase its consumption for animals. In this way, both of the animal production will be contributed, and also would be taken benefit from A. aestivus as natural means of protection and treatment of human, animal and plant health from certain diseases. Last but not least, the usage of summer asphodel as biopesticide (attractant and/or repellant) in the integrated pest management program against certain insect pests of agricultural crops is under consideration.
