Kültür rotaları, kültürel mirasın tanıtılması, turistlerin otantik ve yerel kültüre ait deneyimler elde etmesi bakımından önemli fırsatlar sunmaktadır. Bir tema altında turistik ürünlerin ve miras öğelerinin birleşerek bir koridor oluşturduğu kültür rotası, aynı zamanda yerel halkın turizmden pay almasına da katkı sağlamaktadır. Rotaların doğası, etabı ve büyüklüğüne bağlı olarak uzman bir profesyonel turist rehberi eşliğinde deneyimlenmesi, turistlerin memnuniyetini arttırmaktadır. Bu hususta profesyonel turist rehberlerinin kültür rotası ile ilgili bilgi ve deneyimlerinin hizmet içi eğitimler ile artırılması önem kazanmaktadır. Buradan hareketle bu araştırmanın amacı, kültür rotalarında gerçekleştirilen hizmet içi eğitimlerin TROAS Kültür Rotaları örnekleminde değerlendirilmesidir. Örnek olay desenini benimsemiş ve keşifsel bir niteliğe sahip bu araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden katılımcı gözlem yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama sürecinde sahada kayıt altına alınan notlar ve fotoğraflar, içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçları, hizmet içi eğitimin profesyonel turist rehberleri için önemli bir boşluğu doldurduğu ancak çeşitli nedenlerle oldukça seyrek sıklıkta yapıldığını göstermektedir. Ayrıca hizmet içi eğitimin profesyonel turist rehberlerinin kültürel ve tarihsel bilgilerini tazeleyici özelliğinin yanı sıra yer-yön ve coğrafi bilgilerine de önemli derecede katkı sağladığı tespit edilmiştir. Kültür rotalarının dışındaki destinasyonlarda çalışan rehberlerin de genel kültür düzeylerinin bu eğitim ile artırıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Ek olarak gerçekleştirilen hizmet içi eğitimin profesyonel turist rehberleri arasında bir sosyalleşme imkanı sağladığını da göstermektedir. Bu sonuçlar, özellikle meslek kuruluşları olan turist rehberi odalarının söz konusu eğitimleri daha sık ve daha düzenli bir şekilde yapması gerektiğini ortaya koymaktadır.
Culture routes provide significant opportunities to promote cultural heritage while also providing tourists with authentic and local experiences. Connecting touristic products and heritage assets under a common theme to form a corridor, they also contribute to local tourism revenues.. Depending on the type, phases, and sections of the routes, travelling with an expert professional tour guide boosts tourist satisfaction. In this sense, it is critical to strengthen professional tourist guides' expertise and experience with culture routes through in-service training. As a result, the purpose of this study is to assess the in-service trainings conducted on culture routes in the sample of TROAS Cultural Routes. One of the qualitative research techniques, participant observation, was applied in this exploratory study that used a case study design. The notes and images taken on the field throughout the data gathering procedure were analysed using the content analysis method. The analytical results reveal that in-service training covers an important void for professional tourist guides, although it is rarely implemented for a variety of reasons. Furthermore, in-service training has been demonstrated to significantly increase professional tourist guides' cultural and historical understanding, as well as that of of location, direction, and geography. The broad expertise of guides working in locations other than cultural routes was also enhanced by this training. Additionally, the results show that professional tour guides socialise more when they receive in-service training. According to these results, professional associations like tour guide chambers ought to hold these kinds of training sessions more regularly.
