Özet

We read the article by Mbachi et al. (2026) that evaluates the prevalence and predictors of musculoskeletal pain and injury among nurses and technicians assisting with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). The authors successfully address an important and often overlooked problem in routine endoscopy practice by focusing on the occupational health of nurses and technicians. Unlike much of the existing literature, which primarily focuses on gastroenterology physicians, Mbachi et al. (2026) focus on endoscopy support staff and make a valuable contribution to the growing literature on ergonomics in gastroenterology practice.
