Aim of this study was to examine the socio-economic structure of farmers of sheep breeding in Gokceada district of Canakkale province and to determine their practices related to farmers' breeding activity. The data of the present study were obtained from surveying of 125 farms of sheep breeding by using the simple random sampling method. Descriptive statistics and 5-point likert-type scale were used to analyze the data. According to the results of study, it was found that the average age of farmers was 48.2 years, the average year of schooling of farmers was 7.8, the average household size was 4.2 persons, the average experience of farmers in sheep breeding was also 24 years and 10.4% of the farmers had the highest income (>= 50.001TL). Furthermore, the most factor that is pay attention in brood stock selection and in the milking were determined as ''I look at the physical characteristics of the animal'' and ''keeping to hygienic measures of farmer that make milking'' concept for farmers that dealing with sheep breeding, respectively. As a result, this study is expected to contribute district's economy and to rural development.
