ZOOLOGY IN THE MIDDLE EAST, cilt.72, sa.1, ss.18-26, 2026 (SCI-Expanded, Scopus)
The new aphid species, Brachyunguis iranensis sp. nov., collected from Hertia intermedia (Boiss.) Kuntze (Asteraceae) in Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran, is described based on apterous viviparous females. A differential diagnosis with morphologically similar species is provided. Identification keys are presented for apterous viviparous females of Asteraceae-feeding Brachyunguis species, as well as for aphids associated with Hertia intermedia worldwide. Additionally, an updated identification key for apterous viviparous females of Brachyunguis species known from Iran is included.
