Özet

This study aims to reveal preservice preschool teachers’ perspectives on science, their thoughts about the place of science education in pre- school, and their evaluations of science education in the teacher training system. This qualitative research collected data from 13 preservice pre-school teachers through semi-structured interviews. As a result of the data analysis, it was concluded that preservice teachers’ perspectives toward science were mostly negative. In addition, it was seen that preservice teachers argued that science education should take place in preschool. Finally, preservice teachers stated that the science education they received during teacher education was inadequate.
