Bu çalışma, Neş’e Erdok’un 2020-2021 yılları arasında yaptığı koronavirüs salgını (Covid 19) konulu resimlerini eser analizi yöntemi
ile inceleyerek bu yapıtlar üzerinden pandemi-sanat-sanatçı arasındaki ilişkiyi irdelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Pandemi adı
verilen küresel veya bölgesel hastalık salgınları, çok sayıda resmin konusu olmuştur. Birçok sanatçı, dünya tarihinde yaşanan veba,
İspanyol gribi, sıtma, cüzzam, frengi gibi salgın hastalıkları resimlerinde işlemiştir. 2019 yılı aralık ayının sonlarında Çin’in Wuhan
şehrinde görülmeye başlayarak tüm dünyaya yayılan koronavirüs salgını da sanatçıları etkileyen toplumsal olaylardandır. 2021
yılında da devam eden salgının sanat yapıtlarına konu olduğu görülmektedir. Çalışma ile Neş’e Erdok’un, sembolik imgelere yer
vererek dışavurumcu bir anlayışla pandemi-sanat-sanatçı ilişkisini yansıttığı koronavirüs konulu resimlerinin, tarihe tanıklık eden
ve kanıt niteliği taşıyan görsel belgeler olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
The aim of the study is to examine the paintings of Neş’e Erdok on the coronavirus pandemic (Covid 19), which she made between
2020-2021, with the method of artwork analysis, and to scrutinize the relationship between pandemic-art-artist through these
works. Global or regional disease outbreaks, called pandemics, have been the subject of numerous paintings. Many artists have
treated in their paintings epidemics diseases such as plague, Spanish flu, malaria, leprosy, and syphilis which have been lived in
the history of the world. The coronavirus pandemic, which started to appear in Wuhan, China at the end of December 2019 and
spread all over the world, is also one of the social fact-events that affect artists. It is seen that the pandemic, which continues in
2021, is the subject to works of art. With the study, it concluded that Neş’e Erdok’s paintings on coronavirus, in which she reflects
the pandemic-art-artist relationship with an expressive style by giving place to symbolic images, are visual documents that bear
witness to history and have evidential value.
