Küreselleşen dünyada tüm sektörler gibi turizm sektöründe yaşanan değişimler dünyadaki kültürel rotaların ve bölgelerin tespit edilip değerlendirilmesini ve yenilerinin oluşturulmasını gerekli kılmaktadır. Turizm literatüründe geçtiğimiz on yılda yer alan akademik çalışmalarda, zeytin ve zeytinyağının yalnızca bir gıda maddesi olmadığından; toplum üzerinde ekonomi, sağlık, ekoloji, turizm ve kültür gibi diğer alanlarda etkili çok yönlü özellikleri dolayısıyla doğal bir miras olduğundan bahsedilmektedir. Zeytinyağı rotaları bunlardan biridir. Zeytinyağı turizmi, zeytin ağaçlarının sıklıkla yetiştiği alanlarda gelişmekte olan tematik bir turizm çeşididir. Çalışmada, dünyadaki zeytinyağı rotaları incelenmiş olup, Türkiye’de sertifikalandırılmış bir zeytinyağı rotası oluşturabilmek için gerekli teorik altyapı ortaya koymaya çalışılmış ve öneriler sunulmuştur. Çalışma, bu alanda yapılacak yeni araştırmalarda kullanılacak yöntem ve modellerin saptanmasında yol gösterici bir niteliğe sahiptir.
The changes in the tourism sector like the other sectors in the globalizing world, necessitate identification and evaluation of cultural routes and regions in the world and the creation of new ones. Over the past decade, olives and olive oil are not only gastronomic products; also defined as natural heritages due to their multifaceted features that affect society in other areas such as health, ecology, economy, tourism, and culture in the academic studies of tourism literature. Olive oil routes are one of them. Oleo tourism is a thematic type of tourism that evolves in areas where olive trees are frequently grown. In this study, olive oil routes of the world were examined; to be able to create certified olive oil routes in Turkey by presenting the theoretical background. The acts to be done on this route were determined, suggestions were held. The study has a directive attribute in determining the methods and models to be used in new researches in this field.
