Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı destekleme ve yetiştirme kursları (DYK) hakkındaki görüşlerini belirlemektir. Tarama yönteminin kullanıldığı araştırmanın örneklemini taşımalı eğitim veren bir ortaokulda kurslara devam eden 118 ortaokul öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen ve dokuz açık uçlu sorudan oluşan yazılı görüş formu kullanılarak toplanan verilerin çözümlenmesinde betimsel analiz yaklaşımı kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, öğrencilerin yarısından fazlasının ders seçiminde kendi iradesini kullanırken kalanların ailelerinin ve okul yönetiminin yönlendirmesi ile seçtikleri belirlenmiştir. Bulgular DYK’ların genellikle test çözme ve konu tekrarı yapma seklinde yürütüldüğünü göstermektedir. Kurslarda en yaygın kullanılan ders materyallerinin akıllı tahta, soru bankaları ve ders kitapları olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte öğrenciler akıllı tahtaların etkinliğinin arttırılabilmesi için tablet olması gerektiğine vurgu yapmışlardır. Okul yönetiminin kurslar konusunda oldukça ilgili olduğunu belirten öğrenciler kursların gün sonunda olmasından dolayı çok yorulduklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Ayrıca yardımcı kitap eksikliği öğrenciler tarafından ifade edilen kurslara ilişkin bir diğer sorundur. Bunun yanı sıra bazı öğrenciler kurslarda sıkıldıklarını ve daha eğlenceli geçmesini istediklerini belirtmişlerdir.
The aim of the study was to investigate secondary school students’ views about the supporting and training courses (STCs) empowered by the Ministry of National Education. The sample of the study in which survey method was used consisted of 118 secondary school students enrolled in a secondary school in which students are transported from villages to the district. Descriptive analysis approach was used to analyze the data obtained using the written opinion questionnaire by the researchers with nine open-ended questions. At the end of the study, it was found that more than half of the students participating in the study selected the courses by themselves while the remaining selected the courses in the guidance of school directors or of their family. The results indicated that the activities of doing test and of repeating of topics were typically used in the STCs. Additionally, it was found that the most common educational materials used in the courses were smartboards, question banks and textbooks. However, students pointed out that they should have tablet to increase the effectiveness of smart boards. Students who reported that school administration was interested in the courses stated that they got very tired at the end of the day because the courses start toward the end of the day. Moreover, lack of supporting textbooks was another problem relating to the supporting and training courses indicated by the students. Furthermore, some students pointed out that they were very bored in the courses and that the courses should be more enjoyable.
