Abstract

Taxonomic Changes and Soil Properties in Suluca Areas (Lapseki-Çanakkale)

In this study, it is aimed to determine typical morphological, physical and chemical properties of  Soil  profiles in Suluca-Kocaveliköy (Lapseki-Çanakkale) region and to classify them according to soil taxonomy and WRB soil classification system. The village of Suluca is located in the Lapseki District of Çanakkale. The working land is 300 meters right of the 4th km of the Old Highway of Suluca-Lapseki. The average annual total rainfall in the land is 571 mm. The annual average temperature of the area is 15.1 ° C. As a result of topographic, geological and geomorphological maps of the region and field observations, 2 soil profiles were opened in the research area. Soil samples were taken according to the horizon principle from each of the opened profile physical and chemical analyzes were carried out in the laboratory. According to the results of the analysis, sandy clay textures were dominant in both profiles Therefore, a problem of compacting and low permeability was detected in the soil. Soil pH was found usually slightly alkaline. The amount of organic matter  was found middle level in profile 1, The amount of organic matter was found at high level in profile 2. Phosphorus and copper were found sufficient level and zinc was found insufficient level  in both profil. Also The iron was found middle level on the surface of profile 1 and it was found high level in profile 2. With the results obtained from the analyzes and the evaluation of the field observations profile 1 was classified Vertıc Calcixerepts.Profile 2 was classified as  Calcic Haploxerolles in the sub-group.According to WRB Profile 1 was classified Calsisols,Profil 2 was classified Phaozems.
