Özet
Şeyyad Hamza's Masnavi of Yusuf and Züleyha is a truly significant and influential work within the cultural heritage of Turkish-Islamic civilization. This article provides an in-depth examination of the fundamental values of justice, respect, and responsibility found in the epic poem. The analysis, conducted through the lens of the “Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Model” and the “Virtue-Value-Action Model,” used the qualitative data analysis program MAXQDA 2024. A rigorous mixed-method approach was employed; a deductive method first established core themes, while an inductive method derived sub-codes. The analysis yielded a total of 233 data points across three main categories: justice (50), respect (89), and responsibility (94). The findings indicate that these values profoundly influence character behavior, shape the plot, and contribute to the text's central themes. Prominent examples include Yusuf's just actions, Züleyha's respectful attitude, and Prophet Jacob's sense of responsibility. The compelling results demonstrate that the core values within the masnavi directly and strongly align with the “Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Model's” goal of cultivating virtuous individuals. This study aims to provide guidance to modern educators by highlighting the potential of literary works in values education.
