AMAÇ: Spinal brucellosis cases affecting musculoskeletal system usually affect sacroiliac zone. Thoracic
brucellosis cases are considerably rare.
YÖNTEM: In our patient with rapidly developing paraplegia, fecal and urinary incontinence, on the 5th
day, T2-3 spondylodiscitis, lystesis and compression findings due to brucellar granulomatosis were
present. (Direct and indirect Coombs 1/160 positive, sed rate:89 mm/hr, CRP:2.29 mg/L (reference range
BULGULAR: In early postoperative period, bilateral distal %20 motor improvement and widespread
inferior causalgia were observed. Urinary and fecal incontinence were continuing.
SONUÇ: In these kinds of patients with emergency decompression, elective surgery and antibiotic
therapy, expectations are high for improvement of neurological symptoms.
