Cittaslow and Slow Food: Are they a different version of capitalism?

Abstract

This study focuses on the part of Cittaslow understanding that has emerged recently related

to eating and drinking habits. The main purpose of the research is to understand what this

culture is and to reveal its relationship with the capitalist system. In this context, Cittaslow

activities, goals and activities were evaluated and the evaluations were compared with the

capitalist system approach. While making these comparisons, the opinions of theorists who

have theories on the capitalist system were taken as basis. The corporate website is the best

way to understand the movement Cittaslow movement in Turkey was examined samples will

be highlighted. The consumption culture and habits that emerged especially with the capitalist

system during the examinations made the basic framework. In the main framework of

Cittaslow, the slow-food movement was also examined within the scope of the study. As a

result of this review, the slow-food movement is considered to be a version and a form of presentation

of capitalism. Because movements such as cittaslow and slow-food have emerged as

an alternative to bad living and food conditions, they are actually a new form of marketing designed

for humanity who is aware of these damages. For this reason, the study paid attention

to be together with the capitalist system and tools while considering these two concepts.
