This research examines the quantitative distribution of graduate theses on artificial intelligence in the field of visual arts in Turkey. According to data obtained from the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education, only 121 of the 2,073 theses with artificial intelligence content were written in the field of visual arts. This rate corresponds to a limited representation level of 5.83%. Many theses within the scope of visual arts were produced at the master's level; production at the level of doctorate and proficiency in art has been very limited. While technology-oriented fields such as Architecture, Radio-Television-Cinema, and Visual Communication Design stand out, only two master's theses have been identified in the Department of Painting. At the level of proficiency in art, only three theses have been written, and these theses belong to the Graphic Design and Media Design Departments. The findings reveal that the academic representation of artificial intelligence in the field of visual arts is limited, and academic production in this field should be encouraged, especially in creative disciplines.
Bu araştırma, Türkiye’de görsel sanatlar alanında yapay zekâ konulu lisansüstü tezlerin nicel dağılımını incelemektedir. Yükseköğretim Kurulu Ulusal Tez Merkezi’nden elde edilen verilere göre, yapay zekâ içerikli toplam 2.073 tez arasında yalnızca 121’i görsel sanatlar alanında yazılmıştır. Bu oran %5,83 gibi sınırlı bir temsil düzeyine karşılık gelmektedir. Görsel sanatlar kapsamındaki tezlerin büyük çoğunluğu Yüksek Lisans düzeyinde üretilmiş; Doktora ve Sanatta Yeterlik düzeyindeki üretim oldukça sınırlı kalmıştır. Mimarlık, Radyo-Televizyon-Sinema ve Görsel İletişim Tasarımı gibi teknoloji odaklı alanlar öne çıkarken, Resim Anasanat Dalı’nda yalnızca iki Yüksek Lisans tezi tespit edilmiştir. Sanatta Yeterlik düzeyinde ise yalnızca üç tez yayımlanmış, bu tezler Grafik Tasarımı ve Medya Tasarımı Anasanat Dallarına aittir. Elde edilen bulgular, yapay zekânın görsel sanatlar alanındaki akademik temsiliyetinin sınırlı olduğunu ve özellikle yaratıcı disiplinlerde bu alana yönelik akademik üretimin teşvik edilmesi gerektiğini ortaya koymaktadır.
