Bu çalışmada, çift fazlı 4140 çeliğinin değişik kesme ve ilerleme hızlarında tornalanmasında martensit morfolojisinin yüzey pürüzlülüğü üzerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Talaş derinliği sabit tutularak işlenebilirlik deneyleri kuru olarak yapılmıştır. Deneysel sonuçlar; test edilen tüm numunelerde artan kesme hızı ve azalan ilerleme hızı ile birlikte yüzey pürüzlülüğünün azaldığını göstermiştir. Aynı kesme şartlarında en iyi yüzey pürüzlülüğünü ince martensit morfolojisine sahip numuneler göstermiştir.
In this study, the effect of martensite morphology on surface roughness of AISI 4140 steel with dual phase structure was examined by turning at various cutting speed and feed rate. By keeping the depth of cut constant, machining tests were carried out without coolant. The experimental result showed that, in all tested samples surface roughness decreased with increasing cutting speed and decreasing feed rate. Under the same machining conditions the specimens having fine martensite morphology exhibited the best surface roughness.
