ABSTRACT
In
this paper, works containing Pool and Fountain images related to the Water of
Life metaphor in Painting Art have been examined in terms of composition and
symbolism language. The reflection of the 'Water of Life' myth, which has been
told for 5000 years, on art is exemplified by engravings, frescoes, wooden
panels and canvas paintings created from the 15th century to the 20th century.
In the study where literature scanning and data analysis methods were applied,
fountains and pools, which are types of structures distributing and collecting
water, related to water architecture, were discussed in paintings depicting the
myth of the Water of Life, the Fountain of Youth by Lucas Cranach, Edward
Burne-Jones, Osman Hamdi Bey and other artists. His paintings with names such
as , Fountain of Youth, Ab-Hayat were
analyzed and examined through water symbolism.

Bu
bildiri metninde Resim Sanatında Yaşam Suyu metaforu ile ilişkili Havuz ve
Çeşme imgelerini içeren eserler kompozisyon ve sembolizm dili açısından incelenmiştir.
5000 yıldır anlatılagelen ‘Yaşam Suyu’ mitinin sanata yansıması 15. Yüzyıldan
20. Yüzyıla değin ortaya konmuş olan gravür, fresk, ahşap panel ve tuval
resimleriyle örneklenmiştir. Literatür tarama ve veri analizi yöntemlerinin
uygulandığı çalışmada, su sembolizmi üzerinden su mimarisine dair yapı türleri
olan, suyu dağıtan ve biriktiren çeşme ve havuzların Yaşam Suyu mitinin
öykülendiği resimlerde ele alınışı, Lucas Cranach, Edward Burne-Jones, Osman
Hamdi Bey ve diğer sanatçıların Gençlik Çeşmesi, Ab-Hayat gibi
isimler taşıyan resimleri çözümlenerek irdelenmiştir.
