Abstract

Purpose: Erythropoietin provides cellular protection by inhibiting apoptosis. Myocardial damage related to the cardiac ischemia is more prominent especially in the first 6 h. In the present study, circulatory erythropoietin levels in response to cardiac ischemia were evaluated.
