Abstract

Polynomial curves are a family of curves that are frequently used

in computer, robotics, design, navigation and many fields [1]. Among

these curves, PH-curves and Bezier curves are very important because

they are used in computer graphics, computer aided graphic design

and related fields. Bezier curves and surfaces were first developed independently

between 1958 and 1960 by French engineer Pierre Etienne

Bezier and French mathematician Paul de Faget De Casteljau with

different mathematical approaches [2],[3]. On the other hand, Farouki

and Sakkalis(1990) defined Pythagorean-hodograph curves and gave

the characterization for planar PH curves [4]. In this study, we consider

these two curves together in Euclidean space, and describe the

characterization of these B´ezier curves in order to be a PH-curve.
