Today, the more effective the design related fields are in the country's economy, the
more obvious it is. Rapid development of digitalization and visual culture can cause countries
to produce a variety of policies related to the effectiveness of the design in particular. In this
sense, the right distribution of design to all levels of society can be seen as a major problem, as
the influence of all sectors of service, industry and social life can be controlled and guided. In
this study, a model proposal is introduced to transform the design into an applicable and futureoriented Industry 4.0 compliant discipline that can respond to society's needs in an accurate and
sustainable way.
Silicon Valley, Technoparks, Science and Design Centers etc. the main actors in the
digitalization process were examined and an attempt was made to develop a viable model with
reference to visual culture. In this work, which is attempted to be transferred through a model
of the design-related expansions of all subcomponents of the industrial 4.0 industrial revolution,
the relationship between the different disciplines and the model was sought to be investigated.
All interdisciplinary relations such as university-industry relations, society-industry relations,
production-digitalization relations, culture-design relations, design-digitalization relations have
been tried to be analyzed through the model. Particularly the main theme of this work is the
passing of viable academic knowledge through the design concept and the transformation into
a sustainable structure and organization model.
One aspect of design is an art branch, and the fact that industry and production are the
main components necessitates the examination of the technology based systems and
organization structures that center the human being. In this sense, it is envisaged that the
concept of "sustainable design" in accordance with Industry 4.0 will play a crucial role in
bringing a new model to the country, adding value to the country's economy and making the
country a solid position in the digitalization process.
