Özet

This study aimed to investigate aphid fauna and aphid-host plant distributions in Ida Mountains, one of the most important faunal and floral biodiversity hotspots in Türkiye, during spring and summer 2023 and 2024. In total, 43 aphid species belonging to 21 genera in four subfamilies from the family Aphididae (Hemiptera) were revealed on 55 host plants in Ida Mountains. From the aphids, Lipaphis (Lipaphis) turritella (Wahlgren, 1938) is new record to the aphid fauna of Türkiye. Also, the detailed description and the morphometric comparisons of apterous viviparous females of L. turritella from Turkish and North European populations are presented. Twenty aphid-host plant distributions were revealed in the world for the first time. Ten and 14 aphid species were recorded for the first time in the fauna of Balıkesir and Çanakkale provinces, respectively. Some rare aphid species, Brachycaudus (Thuleaphis) rumexicolens (Patch, 1917), Dysaphis (Dysaphis) lauberti (Börner, 1940) and Periphyllus bulgaricus Tashev, 1964, of which only one record exists in Türkiye, were recorded in Ida Mountains. As a result, significant results were revealed about the aphid fauna and their host plants in Ida Mountains, one of Türkiye's most important protected areas with rich floral diversity.
