Sirenomelia, also known as the mermaid syndrome, is a rare congenital malformation of uncertain etiology. It is a very rare congenital fetal anomaly characterized by lower limb fusion and severe urogenital, gastrointestinal, cardiovasculer, central nervous system malformations.
