Özet

Sewage sludge consists of nutrients, heavy metals and organic compounds. The usage of sewage sludge in agricultural fields will reduce the negative effects on the environment and will promote soil productivity hence plant growth. For this purpose, four doses of sewage sludge obtained from Çanakkale Municipality Sewage Treatment Plant (a control dose where no sewage sludge is applied, the maximum dose permitted, half of the maximum dose, twice of the maximum dose) have been combined with the agricultural soil taken from Dardanos Campus, and British grass (Lolium perenne) has been grown. Statistical analysis results showed that interreaction of grass cutting time and sewage sludge applications; except plant lead content has been found statistically significant (p≤0,01). The regulations concerning to the maximum dose implementation of sewage sludge may stand in a regulations and it is recommended to use it as fertilizer for the grass plant.
