Abstract

The Hydrobiidae family is the most common and diverse taxa of freshwater gastropods in the aquatic ecosystem. Among Hydrobiidae, Grossuana Radoman, 1983 is a tiny spring-inhabitant genus which is mainly distributed in Balkan countries. We surveyed various freshwater ecosystems in the Çanakkale Province, northwestern Turkey, including Mount Kazdağı, and found eight of Grossuana which are new to science: G. azizsancari, G. kazdagiana, G. onderi, G. bayramicensis, G. kirkgozlerensis, G. canakkalensis, G. arslanarum, and G. tunceri. The species are described here.
