Biography
Akan Deniz YAZGAN is the son of a teacher mom and dad. He completed his Ph.D. in February 2013 at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Institute of Educational Sciences. Dr. Yazgan has been working as an assistant professor at ÇOMÜ Faculty of Education, Department of Curriculum and Instruction since 2016 and he received the title of associate professor in 2023.His PhD studies focus on media literacy and active citizenship. Post-doctoral research focuses on teacher roles / profiles, social capital, cultural capital, digital divide, news media literacy, social media literacy, thinking skills, Socratic inquiry, citizenship education, democracy education, human rights education, inequalities in education and teacher education.
