Dr. Necati Kaya is a Professor in the Department of Material Science and Engineering at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Çanakkale, Türkiye. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics with an emphasis on Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) Physics from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA, and an M.S. in Physics, focused on Atomic and Molecular Physics, from Karadeniz Technical University, Türkiye.
Dr. Kaya’s research interests lie broadly within the fields of optics and photonics. His work spans nonlinear optics, lasers, the development and characterization of optical and optoelectronic materials and devices, and fundamental studies in atomic and molecular physics, including atomic spectra, photon interactions, and molecular properties.

Dr. Kaya has made significant contributions to his field, as evidenced by one book chapter and more than 30 publications in prestigious scientific journals, including Optics Express, Physical Review A, Applied Physics B: Lasers and Optics, Chemical Physics, and the Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, among many others. He is also an active participant in international scientific discourse, having presented his work at more than 65 international conferences, including CLEO/Europe-EQEC, ATTO, and numerous Turkish Physical Society International Physics Congresses.
Beyond his research and publications, Dr. Kaya is dedicated to serving the scientific community. He reviews manuscripts for over 20 journals and evaluates research proposals for funding agencies such as TÜBİTAK, BAP, and Technoparks. He has also served on proposal review panels for TÜBİTAK. His research has been supported by distinguished funding organizations, including the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), the Robert A. Welch Foundation, the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF). Dr. Kaya is a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA), the American Physical Society (APS), and the National Hydrogen Association.
