Tuba (Korkmaz) Batu is a Çanakkale native who was born in Diyarbakır in 1980.
She received her master's degree from the same university in 2006 with her thesis titled "Research of Female Figures in Contemporary Ceramic Art". Her interest in figure in plastic arts was further reinforced with this work. In the meantime, she designed and applied large-scale architectural panels for many spaces in her personal workshop she established in Çanakkale.
She started working as a designer in the ceramics industry in 2010. Meanwhile, she continued her Proficiency in Art education at Marmara University. In 2016, she received his Ph.D. with the text of the work titled Identity-Memory: 'I Wanted to Be Known!', and her thesis was published as a book under the title of 'I Wanted to Be Known!'. In the same year, she decided to leave the ceramic industry, where she worked for years as a designer and manager.
She has been continuing her career as an academician since 2018. She is an associate professor and head of the Department of Handicrafts at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.
The artist, who has eight solo exhibitions to date, has participated in many exhibitions and events in Turkey and abroad.
Her works and ceramic panels are in many private and public collections.
